Projects and Programmes
Hunger Alliance of Ghana has carried out the following projects and conferences:
National Alliance Capacity Building Project was supported by US Alliance to End Hunger and USAID -2010.
National Alliance Capacity Building Project was supported by US Alliance to End Hunger and USAID -2011 – 2012.
The project was carried out in ten (10) districts (Funded by the French Embassy under the Small Grant for Social Development).
for Scaling Up Nutrition in Ghana (2013 – 2015) funded by the United Nations Multi-Partner Trust Fund.
Supported by US Alliance to End Hunger and funded by USAID (2016 – 2017).
for Ghana’s Agriculture Sector (2017 – 2018) Supported by Chemonic’s Agriculture Policy Support Project and Funded by USAID.
for (2017 – 2021) to become nutrition sensitive .
(2017 – 2021) Project with funding from United Nations Pooled Fund and coordinated by United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS).
The Alliance is currently spearheading two community based agricultural related projects that will impact on the small scale farmers. These are the Ghana Rural Food Banking Project and the newly planned Breadfruit Revolution project in West Africa.
The breadfruit Project will be ran in partnership with Global Breadfruit Institute with the aim of accelerating the revolution of breadfruit as a potential and a viable crop that will improve the West African food security and vegetation. The pilot project commenced in 2012 in the Eastern Region of Ghana.
The FBOs capacity building project has covered 10 FBOs in all in 3 Districts. It focuses on FBOs Administration capacity strengthening, extension service support, technology transfer and farmer school programme.
